Accessory to a Crime
They swan about like movie stars;
Clothes expensive, drive flash cars.
They hang around in trendy places;
Designer drugs, cosmetic faces.
But look behing the beguiling mirage,
Behind the enticing, rich facade
You will find no heart, no mind, no soul;
A deep, gloomy darkness, a grim, empty hole.
You won’t speak to me,
I don’t wear Armani,
You fraternise with Gliterrati.
You go to health spas
With the girls from wine bars
As your life continues its glorious farce.
They are careful followers…
Of the latest fashions,
From dresses to gossip to…
Political passions.
Why do you go to an anti-war march,
When on a map you can’t find Iraq?
They know nothing save the latest rages
And how to get access to Daddy’s wages.
You won’t speak to me
I don’t wear Armani
You fraternise with
The Glitterati
You go to health spas
With the girls from the wine bars
As your life continues
Its glorious farce
In time, they will find some poor sap of a man
To earn the money that they snatch from his hand.
Their loveless marriage brings a spoilt little kid
Repeating the cycle of existence invalid.
So perhaps this is why
They don’t look you in the eye
When putting you down, disdainful,
No expected reply.
You won’t speak to me
I don’t wear Armani
You fraternise with
The Glitterati
This is the reply from all the guys,
Fed up with your attitude, your views, your lies,
‘Cos in the end you lie to yourself
When you associate your happiness with your wealth.
The purpose of this strongly-worded invective
Is to give you a sense of real perspective.
Bitch.
